Which Ephesus destination do you mean after landing in İzmir?
Separate the Ephesus archaeological site, Ephesus Museum in Selçuk town and the Ephesus Experience Museum on site before choosing your first stop after İzmir Airport.
Read the guide →Selçuk is a town and district south of İzmir, with very different visitor destinations within its boundaries. Visit İzmir highlights the town, Ephesus, Şirince and Pamucak; the Ministry of Culture gives Ephesus a separate site address. An airport enquiry should therefore say whether the first stop is a Selçuk town hotel, an archaeological-site entrance, a village property or a coast address. The district name alone cannot answer that question.

Approximate road distance to the mapped centre: 60 km
OpenStreetMap / OSRM route estimate. Your hotel entrance and the road chosen can change the distance.
View the driving route ↗At İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport, domestic and international passengers leave through different terminal areas. Share the flight number and correct arrival side before discussing pickup. Baggage and, for international flights, border processing can delay the moment everyone is ready to depart. If companions land separately, explain the flight order and whether the party will leave together. Then provide the actual Selçuk-area street address rather than only a general place name.
Selçuk town accommodation and the Ephesus archaeological site are different destinations. If you are checking into a hotel first, send its name and door address; the site's general address is not your hotel. If you are going straight from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Ephesus, the Ministry of Culture describes two gates, Alt Kapı (lower gate) and Üst Kapı (upper gate), about three kilometres apart. ‘Ephesus’ alone does not tell a driver which gate you need. Check the entrance specified by your visit plan or group, then name that gate in the journey request. If you expect to leave by the other gate, agree on the collection point separately before the visit. Do not assume that one gate's map pin, a Selçuk town pin or the museum listing identifies both the arrival and collection points. Confirm current access and visitor instructions with the site or your organiser.
Selçuk Municipality and Visit İzmir locate Meryem Ana Evi, the House of the Virgin Mary, on Bülbül Dağı beyond Selçuk town. It is neither the lower nor the upper entrance to the Ephesus archaeological site. If this is your first visit after İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport, name Meryem Ana Evi as the destination instead of entering only 'Ephesus' or a Selçuk town pin. If your plan includes both places, settle their order before requesting a journey: identify the Ephesus gate for arrival, the gate where you expect to leave, and the House as a separate stop. A drop-off at one gate does not establish collection at the other gate or at the House. Ask the relevant site or your tour organiser for current visitor instructions and an appropriate vehicle meeting point; a general map marker is not that confirmation. If you then check into a Selçuk hotel, give its address as another, distinct final stop.
Visit İzmir describes Şirince as a village belonging to Selçuk, on a hill beyond the town. A reservation in Şirince should therefore use the village and property address, not a Selçuk town marker. If you plan to drop bags in town and visit the village later, those are separate legs. Conversely, a direct arrival at a village guesthouse should name that guesthouse and any directions it supplies for the usable road approach.
The official Selçuk guide also names Pamucak coast among the district's attractions. A coast stay is different from a town hotel or an Ephesus visit. Check the full address before selecting the route, especially when a booking platform advertises 'Selçuk' as the broad location. If travellers have two properties, describe both addresses and the preferred order. A driver cannot infer an extra stop from the district name.
İZBAN serves the airport station on its southbound suburban line, but İzmir Metropolitan Municipality says passengers going to Selçuk station must change at Tepeköy. Treat that as a real connection when comparing rail with a direct airport journey: look up the airport-to-Tepeköy train and the separate onward service to Selçuk for your actual arrival date. Allow for the time needed to leave the terminal and reach the station with luggage, then check whether the connection still suits your plans. Reaching Selçuk station is also not the same as reaching a hotel, the Ephesus archaeological-site entrance or a guesthouse in Şirince. Locate that final address and work out the onward leg before deciding which option fits. If your booking names only ‘Selçuk’, find out whether it means the town or another place in the district; the rail endpoint cannot settle that question for you.
For a return flight, your pickup might be a town hotel, a village property or somewhere else in the district. Send that address anew with date, flight number, terminal type and passenger count. Use the airline's current check-in and baggage instructions when considering arrival at the airport. If you are visiting Ephesus on the way, state that as a separate stop before seeking an itinerary; do not assume sightseeing is included in a simple Selçuk-to-airport request.
The archaeological site is within the Selçuk district but has its own official address. Name the site entrance if that is your true destination.
The municipality describes the line as reaching Selçuk. Check live services and plan the onward journey from the station to your accommodation.
Şirince belongs to the Selçuk district but is a separate village. Give the guesthouse's full village address, not a town-centre pin.
Separate the Ephesus archaeological site, Ephesus Museum in Selçuk town and the Ephesus Experience Museum on site before choosing your first stop after İzmir Airport.
